Independent
completion expertise.
Delivered with accountability.

We give owners and boards independent, evidence-based assurance that complex projects finish as verified, not as reported.

Proofdatum is a specialist completion management advisory for complex capital projects.

We connect system-based verification, Mechanical Completion governance, documentation integrity and commissioning readiness, so facilities are delivered safe, reliable and ready for operation.

Independent. Accountable. Effective.

Why Proofdatum exists

Close the readiness gap

Progress can mask gaps in system boundaries, completion evidence and punch exposure. We surface them before handover.

Independent perspective

We provide objective completion governance that makes readiness measurable, traceable and accountable.

Focus on delivery assurance

Our mission is to make handover risk visible, evidenced and decidable before it costs schedule or project value.

Bernardo Silva, Founder and Managing Director of Proofdatum

Founder-led. Field-proven.

Proofdatum is led by its founder, Bernardo Silva, a chartered mechanical engineer who has spent over twenty years on the completion side of complex offshore projects: FPSOs, platforms, subsea systems and pipelines across Europe, Africa and Asia, in delivery roles with TotalEnergies, BP, Tullow Oil and Premier Oil.

That time was spent where handover actually happens: walking systems with construction and commissioning teams, closing out more than forty thousand inspections and tests across hundreds of subsystems on a single development alone, working down punch lists that ran to more than fifty thousand items, and taking two converted FPSOs to sail-away with mechanical completion and pre-commissioning brought to documented closure. Along the way he learned what the textbooks leave out: how readiness quietly slips, how good teams end up defending dates they no longer quite believe, and how much of it is recoverable when someone looks at the evidence early enough.

He founded Proofdatum to put that experience at the service of project leaders: quietly, inside your team and your systems, on your side of the table. If your project is approaching a handover it cannot afford to miss, he would welcome the conversation.

What differentiates Proofdatum

Independent completion governance

Objective oversight focused on readiness risk, not internal progress optimism.

System-based delivery control

Completion status structured around systems, subsystems, boundaries, Inspection and Test Records (ITRs), certificates, punch exposure and handover readiness.

PCMS-agnostic integration

We work across ICAPS, PIMS, ProCoSys, WinPCS, Excel-based registers and client-specific tools.

Evidence-driven readiness

Progress is assessed against verified completion evidence, dossier integrity, punch status and commissioning acceptance criteria.

Schedule-to-completion alignment

Construction progress, MC skyline, commissioning sequence and readiness constraints are reconciled into a single delivery view.

Experience rooted in oil & gas, applicable across complex facilities

Proofdatum’s experience is rooted in oil and gas, FPSO, subsea, offshore, EPC and facility delivery environments.

The same completion principles apply wherever piping, electrical, instrumentation, HVAC, mechanical equipment, documentation, testing and system handover must be verified before safe operation.

Standards-aligned, evidence-led governance

Our approach is informed by recognised project delivery, quality, risk, records, configuration control, scheduling and systems completion practices. Schedule-quality assessment draws on the DCMA 14-point assessment principles.

We align our governance practice with these frameworks; we do not claim certification against them.

API RP 1FSC

Subsystem definition, completion boundaries and handover certification staged to systems-completion practice.

ISO 21502

Completion governance embedded in the project’s delivery organisation, with defined roles and decision points.

ISO 21505

Escalation routes, hold points and sign-off authority set so completion decisions are made at the right level.

ISO 31000

Completion risk identified by subsystem, escalated on evidence and tracked to closure.

ISO 9001

Inspection, test and punch records treated as quality evidence, not paperwork.

ISO 15489

Dossier and certificate control that keeps evidence traceable from tag to handover.
