Renewables

Completion and handover control for renewable energy assets, energy storage and emerging clean-energy systems.

Industry challenge

Renewables and energy-transition assets are often delivered through distributed packages, specialist vendors and fast-moving construction programmes. Handover risk emerges when package completion, grid readiness, controls integration and operational acceptance are not governed as one system.

Common questions

Does completion discipline from oil and gas transfer to renewables?
Directly. Renewables carry the same failure point: readiness assumed before it is verified. Subsystem boundaries, inspection records and punch control matter as much on a wind farm or battery system as on a process plant, with far less commissioning float to absorb surprises.
What is different about offshore wind completions?
Volume and repetition: many near-identical units, each with its own evidence chain, plus array and export cable interfaces and tight vessel windows. Control comes from treating each turbine and its infrastructure as subsystems with verified status, not from sampling.
Do you cover battery storage, hydrogen and other emerging systems?
Yes. Energy transition facilities sit naturally in this practice: battery energy storage, hydrogen and ammonia-related plants and grid-connected infrastructure follow the same completion logic, with safety and integrity evidence at the centre.
Our contractors are new to system-based completion. Does that matter?
It is common in renewables, where parts of the delivery chain have not run certificate-gated handovers before. The completion framework, boundaries and evidence rules are set up early and contractors work inside them, which supports both schedule and warranty positions.
When should completion control start on a renewables project?
In detailed engineering, as tag registers and inspection scopes are defined. The cost of adding control after energisation dates are fixed is far higher than designing it in.

Build completion control into the project before commissioning access becomes constrained.
