The engagement entry point

Rapid Completion Assessment

Ten days. An independent, evidence-based reading of where completion actually stands, what it puts at risk and the actions that close the gap, delivered without disrupting delivery.

What it is

The Rapid Completion Assessment is Proofdatum’s fixed-scope entry engagement: ten days of independent verification across your completion data, system readiness and evidential chain. It answers the question every project director eventually has to ask: if the handover claim were tested today, would it stand?

We work inside your existing team, tools and completion system; we do not replace them.

What we examine

Completion data integrity

Whether reported progress traces to certificates, test records and punch status, or only to the dashboard.

System readiness

Whether construction progress translates into systems that commissioning can actually accept.

Punch and carry-over posture

Volume, ownership and ageing, measured against the handover plan rather than the trend line.

Certification and preservation

Whether the evidential chain behind each certificate will stand scrutiny at handover.

PCMS health

Whether the completion database still reflects the plant actually being built.

What you walk away with

An independent readiness view

A clear, defensible statement of where completion stands, independent of the reporting chain.

A ranked completion risk register

Every finding ranked by schedule and commercial exposure, each with an owner and a recommended action.

An evidential gap list

What cannot currently be proven, and what closing each gap requires.

A leadership briefing

Findings presented at the level that has to act on them, with the decision each finding demands.

How it runs

Day 0

Mobilisation

Sponsor confirmed, data request issued and satisfied through controlled exports, access arranged where it adds value, and interviews scheduled, before the assessment clock starts.

Days 1–2

Orientation

Access, data intake and alignment on scope, systems and priorities.

Days 3–8

Verification

Independent analysis across the five dimensions, inside your existing systems.

Days 9–10

Findings

Risk ranking, the readiness view and the leadership briefing.

The ten days are working days, counted from a satisfied data request. Where access or data arrives late, the schedule extends day for day and is flagged as it occurs.

What we need from you

Mobilisation is deliberately light and remote-first: analysis, documentation familiarisation and interviews proceed remotely while yard or site access clearances are processed. What we ask for at Day 0:

  • A controlled export of the completion system and document control registers, in spreadsheet form. Read access helps, but is not required to start.
  • The tag register, subsystem boundary drawings and the master engineering registers (P&IDs, SLDs, line and equipment lists, cable schedules), with revision status.
  • The current level 3 schedule, in native format where possible, with the mechanical completion and commissioning skylines where they exist. Where no skyline exists, that is itself a finding.
  • Key contacts across completion, construction, commissioning and project controls.
  • A confirmed sponsor and access for the leadership briefing.
  • Current completion priorities and any decision deadlines the findings must serve.

When to commission it

  • Completion strategy, PCMS structure and evidence foundations being set during FEED or detailed engineering.
  • Construction passing 60 per cent complete and the handover conversation beginning.
  • Entering pre-commissioning with punch and certification volumes rising.
  • Handover dates under pressure and reported progress in doubt.
  • A financing, acquisition or sanction decision that relies on completion claims.

The earliest trigger is the cheapest one: see When to establish completion control for why the FEED and detailed engineering window matters.
